Users

The Users of the Service include University of Phoenix students, faculty, staff, and alumni. All Users may utilize the Ask Us! and Request a Document services, while internal research is limited to University of Phoenix staff.

Alumni

Alumni are restricted from using some services and resources.

  • Due to licensing restrictions, not all databases are available to alumni Users.
  • There are restrictions on alumni use of the Request a Document service. Please see the Request a Document guide for additional information.

User Privacy

The Librarians will adhere to the standards of professional conduct regarding User privacy outlined by the American Library Association.

The User's personally identifiable information (PII) should always be kept confidential, except:

  • when required by law and Library policies;
  • as necessary to answer a question; and
  • as necessary to evaluate the service.

Policy of Mutual Respect

We treat our Users with respect and expect the same in return. Rude and offensive behavior will not be tolerated. Unacceptable behavior includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • using offensive or obscene language or language of a racist/sexist nature;
  • transmitting messages that harass or threaten Library staff;
  • threats related to loss of life or bodily harm; and
  • deliberately wasting Librarian effort or time in a way that denies service to other legitimate Users of the service.

Inquiries containing rude or offensive content should be forwarded to the Service supervisor or Library director.
