The Service provides Users with reference and document retrieval assistance from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Mountain Standard Time, seven days a week. The Service consists of:
- Ask Us! email responses
- Internal research
- Document requests
Ask Us! Service
- The Ask Us! service involves responding to Users via email within 24 hours. Questions submitted during the weekends and holidays may require a longer response time.
- Ask Us! responses may include, but are not limited to, instruction on database use, search strategy recommendations, APA citation formatting, troubleshooting technical issues, and responding to document requests.
- The goal of assisting Users via the Ask Us! service is to provide concise yet comprehensive responses to help them use the resources available in the Library to conduct the research themselves. You can refer Users to credible, outside resources if the information is unavailable in the Library.
Internal Research
- The internal research service comprises both course research and special research projects. Course research involves assisting staff with resource curation, recommendations, and resource evaluations.
- Course research includes but is not limited to course readings and textbook recommendations or replacement options.
- The goal in assisting internal Users is to locate and provide access to appropriate resources where available (in the Library or on the internet) and provide professional expertise evaluating existing curriculum resources.
- Internal research requests are submitted through Asana via the Library Resource Request queue (see Internal Research Guidelines).
