Federal

U.S. Supreme Court Cases

The U.S. Supreme Court only hears cases with U.S. constitutional issues.

U.S. Court System

The federal courts only deal with issues relating to the federal government or issues between states. The lowest level is the District Courts, which do not publish all cases heard. The next level is the Appeals Courts, which are final unless it is a constitutional issue, which can be appealed to the Supreme Court. Indexes to cases are free, but to see the contents, many are on the fee based PACER system.

Special Courts

Special Courts are those within the judicial branch of government that generally address only one area of law or have specifically defined powers.
