Research Databases

You will need to use more than one database to collect your research. Different databases use different platforms, like EBSCOhost Nursing versus Nursing@Ovid. Use our Toolkits for tips and tutorials on how to search various platforms best.

Here is a list of our largest nursing databases.

EBSCOhost Nursing
Use EBSCOhost Nursing to search three top nursing databases simultaneously: Cochrane Collection Plus (for systematic reviews and controlled trials), CINAHL Ultimate (for a wide range of nursing and allied health research), and MEDLINE (for medical research from top journals).
Nursing@Ovid
Use Nursing@Ovid for a powerful, targeted search of nursing literature. It contains nursing-specific filters to fine-tune your search. See our helpful Toolkit for tips on using Nursing@Ovid.
ProQuest
Use ProQuest to search nursing and health sciences journals unavailable in EBSCOhost databases. It contains ProQuest Nursing and Allied Health and a wealth of other nursing research literature in a powerful but user-friendly search interface.

PubMed
PubMed searches the same body of literature as MEDLINE, but because it has a different interface, it may help pull up articles you might have missed elsewhere. Use PubMed with Lean Library to help surface full-text links to content available in the University Library.
