How to Use Nursing@Ovid

There are multiple ways to search Nursing@Ovid and filter your results depending on the scope of your research project.

Use the basic search tab when you just need a quick overview of a topic.
Use the multi-field search tab to create a more complex search using nursing-specific field limiters and Boolean operators.
Use the search filters and sorting options to customize your search results.

Library Hacks

Create a personal Nursing@Ovid account in My Workspace (available in the tabs at the top of the page). On the My Workspace page, you can create project folders and save searches to easily continue your research at a later time. Articles can be added to project folders in the same way as in the library’s EBSCOhost and ProQuest databases. For more help, see the My Workspace section in Ovid Help.

Hidden Gems

  • Books. There are over 400 books available in Nursing@Ovid, in addition to thousands of journals. To browse through the books, go to the Books tab at the top of the page and select either Title or Subject to browse. Who knows what you might find?
  • PICO searches. Check out the PICO Resource Center for tips on running PICO searches in Nursing@OVID.
