Gene Mutation and Repair, and Non-Coding RNA

Mutations result from a changed nucleotide. A series of codons translates to a sequence of amino acids, so when one nitrogenous base changes it affects the mRNA and thus the amino acid. A nonsense mutation is when the codon is changed into a stop codon, and frameshift mutations add or delete a base, shifting and altering each codon.
