AJS/534: Organizational Administration in Justice and Security

Team Dynamics and Collaboration in Criminal Justice and Security

video thumbnail
Business school professor Amy Edmondson studies "teaming," where people come together quickly (and often temporarily) to solve new, urgent or unusual problems. Recalling stories of teamwork on the fly, such as the incredible rescue of 33 miners trapped half a mile underground in Chile in 2010, Edmondson shares the elements needed to turn a group of strangers into a quick-thinking team that can nimbly respond to challenges.
Getting things done in collaboration is often more challenging than we would hope. Lifelong collaborator Richard Watkins offers us his refreshingly clear compass for collaborative groups – pointing us to the five dynamics of groups and the five practical conversations that will get us working together better and above all of sharing.
