The ProQuest AI Research Assistant helps you search effectively, analyze results, and find related sources.

  • Keyword suggestions. Once you have entered your keywords into the search box, the AI Research Assistant will suggest alternate keywords underneath the search box that you can click on to add to and focus your search.
  • Individual articles and Research Assistant
    • The Research Assistant will appear next to an article you are viewing.
    • The Research Assistant box (next to the article) offers:
      • key takeaways
      • related articles
      • indexing terms you can select to create a new search
  • At the bottom of the Research Assistant box, other options include:
    • What are the findings or conclusions? - Quickly summarizes the source’s conclusions so that you can evaluate them
    • Brainstorm related research topics - links to searches you can try.
    • Describe the important concepts - outlines and links to searches on the key ideas discussed in the source.
    • What are the essential details? - For research articles, this provides a quick overview of the article's main points, purpose, study design/methods, and results/outcomes. For creative works, such as stories, plays, novels, or poems, it provides the central theme, characters, setting, tone, plot structure, symbols/motifs, and narrative perspective.
    • Visualize this document’s topics - creates a mind map of the key ideas in the source.

The ProQuest Research Assistant FAQs offer additional information on how the Research Assistant functions and how to optimize its benefits.
