Database

How to Use IBISWorld

The search box on the IBISWorld homepage will search all the products within the database. However, selecting the Products drop-down menu can narrow your focus to specific industry information. For example:

  • Industry Research. Access in-depth reports on U.S. industries, specialized sectors, and state-level industries.
  • Supplementary Products. Explore profiles on business environment, occupations, prices, benchmarking data, and state economics.
  • Risk. Review risk ratings to evaluate potential challenges in different industries. These reports assess expected risk over the next 18 months based on operating conditions, industry structure, and revenue outlook.
  • Company. Compare company performance with benchmarking tools.
  • Tools. Use features like the Industry Wizard and US Trade Tariff Exposure Tool to analyze and explore data.

Find the call prep questions on the report section links on the left side of the industry report page when viewed on a computer browser.

Private Companies. Private company information is available in IBISWorld. Note that this is not a comprehensive list and will include only companies with a significant market share within an industry. The initial company report page may hold very basic information, but selecting the Learn More link within the Industry Market Share box will provide company-specific analysis associated with the industry.
