It is possible to cure tuberculosis, but it is extremely difficult. The only drugs that can kill TB bacteria are toxic, can damage the liver, and cause deafness. A new drug is being developed which employs a new mode of action to kill the TB bacteria by targeting an energy-producing enzyme.
